Hi, and thanks for stopping by.

I finally took the plunge and dedicated a space for myself online; like the good ol’ days of internet chaos thats still residing in every kid born before the Millennium, now taking different forms. Within these pages, you’ll find my work, past and present, as well as thoughts on some future projects and other things bouncing around my head. My life, my passions, my travels: all found within the digital dewey decimal system that is my website.

Will all my ideas come to fruition? Probably not— I’ve never been too friendly with deadlines. My procrastination keeps a guarantee on its toes and a promise on the back burner.

I will try, though, for the sake of art.

And though art may be my first love, plant science has taken hold of my passion and guided me down a career path that has completely changed my life. Currently, I have a degree in Horticulture Technology with certifications in Floral Design and Sustainable Agriculture. I plan to return to school in the near future for my bachelor’s in phytoremediation at Virginia State University, with a nuclear engineering master’s program at good old Virginia Tech. In total, I will have about 8 years minimum of schooling that I must complete to earn the right to call myself a mad scientist.

Am I crazy? Yes and if you’re new here: hi, I’m Mel and I want to save the world.

Art and science go hand in hand, if you really think about it, so the obsession was inevitable from the start.

If you’ve found yourself here as an old friend: thank you for taking time for me. Your support for me means the world. If you like what I have to say, or can’t keep your eyes off my photography, you’re in for a real treat!

As for new friends, I thank you as well, and hope you find something here that sparks your creativity, too. Whether it be my words, my photos or any other piece of media I may complete: don’t hesitate from creating something wonderful. Even if you’re “not good” at it, do it anyway. Get it out. You’ll feel better afterwards.

If you’d like to connect, collab or just chat, you can find my contact form here.

You can also find me on a few social media platforms.

And hey…. thanks for being you ;-)
